Sarah Penton Hosts an Inspiring Conversation with Christina Derksen-Unrau and Paul Adams on CBC Radio West: A Story of Courage and Community Support

In a remarkable act of kindness, Gary Johal has stepped in as a beacon of hope for Christina Derksen-Unrau, offering the crucial financial backing she requires for her life-saving lung transplant surgery. Dubbed her “earth angel” by Christina, Gary’s generosity not only presents a lifeline for her but also shines a spotlight on the power of communal support in times of dire need.

Reflecting on the outpouring of generosity, Paul Adams, the Executive Director of the BC Rural Health Network, shares his admiration: ‘The overwhelming support for Christina has truly touched my heart. Christina, in her extraordinary bravery, has become a symbol of hope and a superhero in her own right. Her willingness to share her journey, stepping far beyond her comfort zone, not only highlights her incredible courage but also casts light on a critical health issue affecting many in our province. By sharing her story, Christina is paving the way for life-saving changes and igniting a movement for awareness. A heartfelt thank you to Christina and all the compassionate souls contributing to this cause.’

Yesterday, Chris and Paul continued to bring a light to this issue and participated in an interview with CBC Radio West and the Host Sarah Penton.
