Seniors in privately run care homes are far more likely to die in hospital than those who live in facilities run by public health authorities and you are 32% more likely to be sent to a hospital emergency department.

In response to a high level of interest in the Office of the Seniors Advocate’s latest report From Residential Care to Hospital: A Pattern Emerges, Seniors Advocate Isobel Mackenzie delivered a presentation to interested stakeholders, media, and members of the public.
