The Southwest Shuswap First Responder Society exists to provide a timely response by volunteers to medical emergencies and to provide support and aid to residents and the general public until BCEHS Paramedics arrive. We are dispatched by BCEHS to all 911 emergency calls in our area where an ambulance will take greater than 10 minutes to respond.

We are volunteers that are trained and equipped to respond to medical emergencies for South Shuswap residents living more than 15 minutes from a hospital.
We cover Balmoral, Blind Bay, Carlin, Eagle Bay, Notch Hill, Skimikin, Sorrento, Sunnybrae, Tappen and White Lake.
Our volunteers donate countless hours, energy and
personal resources to make a difference for you.
We are notified when you dial 9-1-1 on a life threatening call. We have a better chance of reaching you before the Ambulance service since our responders live in this area. These vital minutes could mean the difference between life or death.
