Medical delays from COVID-19 led to more advanced cancer cases, say Canadian doctors

 

Canadian doctors say they are seeing patients with more advanced stages of cancer than usual — a phenomenon they are attributing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While treatment for cancer continued through the pandemic in much of the country, many diagnostic tests and screenings for cancer were temporarily paused when COVID-19 first hit Canada.
