Join us for a virtual Town Hall about the health care crisis in B.C.

Emergency room closures. Family doctor shortages. Wait times with devastating consequences. Staffing issues and unhealthy work environments. British Columbia is in a health care crisis, and the province’s rural communities are suffering the most.

Join us for Situation Critical: a free, online public town hall hosted by Anita Bathe with Belle Puri on September 20 that will address access to doctors, what’s not working and what needs to change.

And tune in all week to CBC Radio One, CBC TV and cbc.ca/bc for a continuation of the conversation with health care professionals about the current state of health care in the province.

Town Hall:

  • Tuesday, September 20, 2022
  • Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Airs live from the CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre
  • Call-in details will be announced shortly
  • Email your comments and questions to bcasks@cbc.ca

Panelists:

  • Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, B.C.
  • Dr. Ramneek Dosanjh, President of Doctors of BC
  • Dr. Rita McCracken, family physician and UBC assistant professor and primary care researcher

You can listen to the town hall on CBC Radio One across the province, watch on CBC TV and live stream the town hall on CBC GemYouTubeFacebook and cbc.ca/bc.

This town hall is part of Situation Critical, a series from CBC British Columbia reporting on the barriers people in this province face in accessing timely and appropriate health care.
