October Member of the Month: Mia

This month, we are featuring Mia, a student volunteer who has recently joined the voice of the BC Rural Health Network. At the network, we strive to include the diverse voices and perspectives of rural BC residents and communities.

Empowering youth to learn and use their voice for what they believe in will be the driver for the future of change.

We are so pleased to have Mia joining us at the Network and look forward to keep working with her and learning from her!

“For the longest time, I have been fascinated by personal health, the human body, and the ways medications impact our well-being. Equally important to me is the need to care for others and ensure they receive the support they require. Growing up in the Lower Mainland and recently moving to a rural BC community, I developed a strong passion for health and a care for community. As a young child, I often pretended to be a doctor, coming up with imaginative remedies for my family. Over time, my curiosity and commitment to this field have only deepened. I’m now eager to take the next step by volunteering with the BC Rural Health Network, where I aim to contribute meaningfully to the community and advocate for those in need.” – Mia Raeshell P.
